The Princeton Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1939 and incorporated on January 28, 1956 for the purpose of establishing, maintaining and operating a volunteer fire department and fire protection services; to conduct emergency operations, encompassing but not limited to: search and rescue; water rescue; extrication from confined spaces; storm recovery; disaster relief; hazardous waste clean-up; to render first aid service in conjunction with the operation of volunteer ambulances; to save life; relieve suffering of the injured and promote safety in all branches; to assist in transporting of ill, injured and infirm; to give all possible aid in times of disaster; and to educate the public in first aid techniques and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and to carry out fire prevention and for similar purposes beneficial to the general public and community as a whole.
